On Tuesday March 28, 2023, at 05:52 the Town of Berlin Fire Departments were dispatched to the 600 block of Wethersfield Rd for a reported structure fire, stove on fire in a detached garage. Car 11 arrived on scene with a one story single bay detached garage, smoke showing. Car 11 assumed Command. Upon further investigation, active fire in the wall, in the area of the wood stove. Fire crews quickly arrived on scene, opened up the wall and extinguished the fire. The surrounding area was checked for extension. Minor damage was sustained to the garage. The scene was turned over to the Town of Berlin Fire Marshals Office for investigation. No injuries were reported. Crews were on scene for approximately 35 minutes.
