The towns fire departments were kept busy on the evening of 9/25 responding to a house fire and two seperate motor vehicle accidents, all within a two hour span.
Mutual aid companies from neighboring Newington and Rocky Hill were called in to assist.

At 20:41 dispatch reported a possible chimney fire called in by the homeowner at 31 club drive. Car 21 arrived to find a light smoke condition inside. Investigating crews evacuated the home and located a fire in the wall behind a 2nd floor fire place that was in use earlier in the day. The fire was quickly put under control, although locating and extinguishing hot spots took some time due to the age of the home. No injuries were reported, the cause is under investigation.

At 22:20 while fire personnel were operating on Club Drive, dispatch reported an accident in the intersection of Deming and Episcopal Roads. Car 33 and the covering mutual aid departments responded to find a single vehicle accident were a car had struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported from this incident, fire department personnel remained on scene assisting with traffic and making the vehicle safe.

At 22:34 Car 33 was notified of another two vehicle accident in the 2300 block of the Berlin Turnpike. Arriving personnel found a accident involving a passenger vehicle and motorcycle on the Southbound side. The occupant of the passenger vehicle was transported to a area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, no other injuries were reported. Fire personnel remained on scene until the vehicles were removed.
