All 4 fire companies were dispatched to the Stop and Shop Plaza for a large, high pressure gas main that was struck by an excavation company.
Fire department personnel evacuated the plaza and the block was closed off until gas company employees were able to isolate and shut off the supply.
Local businesses were temporarily effected but have since reopened after being metered and deemed safe, and gas company crews will be on scene repairing the effected service. All roads in the area have since reopened.
