Town of Berlin Fire Departments Incidents 6/25/2022

On June 25, 2022, the Town of Berlin Fire Departments responded to 5 incidents in the Town of Berlin.

At 1248 hrs., all four companies were dispatched to 2005 Berlin Turnpike, Mobile Gas Station for a reported car fire near the building. Upon arrival of Car 32, single vehicle fire next to the fuel pumps. Fire was extinguished and overhauled by the fire department. Minimal extension to the fuel pump and canopy. The fire is being investigated by the Berlin Fire Marshal's Office.
Units Operating on scene: Car 32 (Incident Commander), Car 21, Car 52, Engine 7, Engine 8, Squad 4, and Truck 9.

At 17:20 hrs., all four companies were dispatched to 1737 Berlin Turnpike, Berlin Motor Inn for a structure fire. Car 31 arrived on scene and declared a working fire in one unit. One line was stretched, and the fire was extinguished. Crews checked for extension and overhauled the units. The fire is being investigated by the Berlin Fire Marshal's Office.
Units Operating on Scene: Car 31 (Incident Commander), Car 21, Car 61, Car 52, Engine 2, Engine 7, Engine 12, Truck 9 and Tower 3.

While crews were working the structure fire., an employee from 1749 Berlin Turnpike, Olive Bazar reported the odor of electrical burning and smoke in the store. Car 31 requested Taskforce 51(Cromwell, Newington, Rocky Hill, Wethersfield) due to the Berlin units working the structure fire incident. Car 11 on scene, odor of electrical burning and smoke in the building. Units from Taskforce 51 arrived on scene and investigated. Smoke was due to an overheated motor in the HVAC system. Power was isolated. All units cleared.
Units Operating on Scene: Car 11, Cromwell Tac 4, Newington Rescue 1, Rocky Hill Engine 2 and Wethersfield Truck 32.

At 1834hrs., Companies 1,2,3 responded to 1660 Berlin Turnpike, Turnpike Antiques for a smoke coming from outside behind the structure. Engine 2 arrived on scene and found 2 cardboard boxes containing glass smoldering on a table. Fire was extinguished and units cleared.

At 1916hrs., members of Company 1 noticed a garbage can on fire in Clarks Grove next to the fire house. Engine 6 responded and extinguished the fire. Units Cleared.
