On April 18, 2022 at 1412 hrs., the Town of Berlin Fire Department's Companies 1,2&3 were dispatched to Lamentation Mountain, in the area behind New Park Dr for a reported brush fire. First arriving fire officer confirmed active brush fire and added Company 4. Upon further investigation found 2 fires approximately 1 acre total on fire on Berlin Land Trust property advancing towards the ridge of Lamentation Mountain. Crews with hand tools were able to contain the fire from spreading and a water supply was established to overhaul hot spots. The fire took approximately 2 hours to extinguish.
