| On Friday, June 12, members of the Town of Berlin Fire Department joined the Connecticut State Police and other town volunteers for Griswold Elementary Schools Field Day.
The Fire Department displayed South Kensington’s Engine 12 and provided information on their tools and equipment. Firefighters demonstrated to students how they dress in their full personal protective equipment and students were able to explore the fire truck and participate in a question-and-answer interactions with the firefighters.
The Fire Department brought coolers, ice, and a misting fan to help keep students comfortable and cool throughout the event.
TOBFD provided standby coverage to support the CT State Police with the landing and take off of their helicopter, also on display for students to visit.
