07/25/2023 Hazmat Incident

At 09:13 the towns four fire companies were called to Tig Hitco Aerospace Manufacturing for the report that their autoclave malfunctioned, and workers were experiencing respiratory issues.
Fire and EMS personnel arrived to find multiple patients and declared a mass casualty incident. Nineteen patients were treated on scene for respiratory irritation and 5 were transported to an area hospital for further evaluation. Remaining workers were sent home for the day.
The town's fire Marshall's office and DEEP are investigating the cause of the malfunction.
